OUR MINISTRY
And he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
- 2 Cor 5,15 -
What we do:
In obedience to Jesus’ general command, we strive to preach the gospel to the widest possible audience, to all people. To this end, we hold street evangelisms, and, where possible, public evangelism events in community centers, libraries, and schools in communities near our service area. Our Lord came for the poor and sinners who need a doctor, so we especially strive to find ways to reach orphans, disadvantaged children, the elderly, widows, the poor, the homeless, the sick, and sinners with the gospel. Therefore, we visit children’s homes, orphanages, nursing homes, prisons, homeless shelters, and similar institutions in our area, waiting for the Lord to open doors for souls. We also use these opportunities to distribute the Bible and Christian books.
Furthermore, we consider it our duty according to God's will to disciple our brothers and sisters, to bring them to adulthood, preparing them for the above service.
According to God's will, he organizes us into a family, a body, of which Jesus is the head, and he endows the members of this unity with gifts, each with his own purpose as a member of the body. The healthy functioning of the body is important, but not as the main goal, but as a basis for being able to fulfill the glorious mission given to it. Therefore, we consider it important to plant healthy biblical communities for the living of this unity according to God's will, and for the fulfillment of our common calling.
Regarding the spiritual background of our service and the naming of their community:
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
- 1 Cor 1,17-18 -
Paul does not only state in the above verses that the word of the cross, the gospel, is the power of God, but that the cross can lose its power, can become useless. It can become a word that, in terms of its effect, is no different from other words. A word that, even if it touches the heart like any other wise word, does not radically transform it, does not create flesh from stone. And if the gospel loses its power, then those who carry this weak gospel also become weak, untrustworthy, and prevent others from entering through the narrow gate and starting on the narrow path to their eternal happiness. How?
God has drawn sharp boundaries that man cannot change. Jesus asks for conversion, godly repentance, saving living faith, denial and loss of self, for His sake and for the sake of the gospel. Without this, no one is worthy of him and cannot follow him. In order to enter his kingdom, to start our journey to heaven, this is the first step. Following Jesus has a price, and the grace offered in the Gospel can only be accepted empty-handed, as a poor in spirit, as a beggar, if you have let go of everything else.
This message has changed today. The place of truth has been taken by grand ideas, worldly, pious-seeming theories. We do not let the rich young men go, but we run after them and slur the word of God until the eye of a needle is so large that giraffes can easily fit through it without having to bend their heads. Theological explanations of today come and completely obscure the Divine order. We distort the truth until we finally convince people that the gate is much wider and the way is much broader than what Jesus taught. It is all over, that the disobedient, unrenewed life is called dear in the sight of the Lord.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, [and] not out of the mouth of the LORD.They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
- Jer 23,16-17.22 –
The consequence of this is that half-heartedness and falsehood become normal, the standard of God-fearing life and become a false goal before people, so they do not even strive to walk on the narrow path according to God. Many even among the true believers fall asleep, sink into the comfortable armchair of religiosity and take communion with the sins of these lukewarm Godless systems. The majority of the crowd, the members of the wolf pack, who have been covered in sheep's clothing by the shepherds and herded into the community, learn to pray, read the Bible, often even take up ministry, or even graduate from a theological school, and blind to their existence become the leaders of many unworldly people, further deepening the error of the churches.
If we do not strive for the life that Christ has set before us, if we do not draw the boundaries that Jesus drew, if we do not preach the gospel that Jesus preached, then we may be many and many will accept us, but the life-transforming power of the gospel will not be visible, but sin will hide it from the world.
And God does not look at this indifferently, and especially does not smile when he sees all this.
And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, [is it] not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, [is it] not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.
- Mal 1,8 –
Why do we think that today, when in our communities we declare the sinner righteous, we befriend the world, we live a half-surrendered, lukewarm life, and the Holy task entrusted to us, the ministry of reconciliation, not that we do not carry it out with zeal and joy, but that we also let the glorious gospel of Christ out of our hands, let it be contaminated with all kinds of lies, that God has no word for it? That there are no consequences to everything? Why do we think that if we regularly hold programs, “worship,” “Bible classes,” and “common lunches,” and have good conversations and coffee, we are fulfilling God’s will and that He delights in our actions?
When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; [it is] iniquity, even the solemn meeting.Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear [them]. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear
- Isa 1,12-15 –
We can come before God in a way that is abominable in His sight, a burden to bear. Sin and celebration cannot be pleasing to the Lord, and our communities today are like whitewashed tombs.
It is not only the testimony of our lives that is weakened in this way. These are serious sins in the eyes of the Lord, by which we despise Him. Therefore, His presence is withdrawn from us, we bring judgment upon ourselves, until we purify our thinking, our hearts, our community, humble ourselves and do penance by fasting, mourning, and begging for His forgiveness.
In addition to unbelief, pride, and blindness, there is a great sin in today's churches: friendship with the world. The increasingly rampant human-centeredness in the world has infiltrated Christian thinking. Religiosity imbued with anthropocentrism has created a God who revolves around man, eagerly waiting to satisfy his needs, fulfill his desires, help him achieve his worldly goals, and make his earthly life comfortable. This God has changed since the Old Testament times; today he no longer judges, but only showers blessings and smiles upon us constantly, no matter how much sin we live in, no matter how much the leaven of sin has permeated our communities. This God, a Jesus, is more like a kind psychologist, a buddy who solves all our problems and helps us “become better people.” But, this God is not the God of the Bible. And the worship of this God is idolatry, not true worship. And because our image of God is false, our image of man, of sin, the Christian life, the church life, the order of marriage and family is distorted with it. Everything is turned upside down.
Because of all this, the gospel preached today has lost its power!
From which it follows that what is called worship has, in most cases, become a series of lifeless, empty liturgies taking place in cold churches, or events in clubs that most closely resemble the programs of the entertainment industry, with which, due to the absence of God's presence, they try to move people, making them believe that this is the work of the Spirit among them. Depending on the disposition of the members of the given community who most want to participate, it may resemble a conversation club, a literary evening, a drama club, a stand-up comedy group, a music concert, or some closed class afternoon session where people in suits howl, bark like dogs, scream and writhe on the floor… The profound worship, reverence for the Holy God and the fear of God that comes from knowing Him, without which there is no true faith, have worn out the pews of today’s churches and apparently this is not what guides the lives of the majority of people who call themselves Christians.
A community that serves outwardly, carries out the great commission with joy and strength, consists of brothers and sisters with a dedicated life and among them there is such love that the world recognizes that they are disciples of Jesus, a living, biblically based, God-fearing community that worships God in spirit and truth, is not easy to find today… and that is sad!
We consider it our duty according to God’s will, and a particularly important work, to expose, by contrasting it with the truth, all the darkness that obscures the eternal truths of the gospel from people and to destroy the strongholds that the devil has erected against us being able to know Him and His order. To restore the boundaries drawn by God, to cleanse the gospel from all contamination, so that it can rise again with strength, and the regenerating, sanctifying power of God can be manifested through it. We consider it important to impart not only knowledge, but also Biblical thinking, to arm God’s people with protection, to prepare them to recognize false teaching and false people. We must be a pillar and a strength of truth, even in this present age!
We believe that the vast majority of current church systems do not allow believers to practice their faith in a biblical way. In most communities, believers are kept in a state of minority, in a dependent relationship, so that the leaders can maintain their power over them and the system can survive, instead of bringing them to adulthood and preparing the saints for the building of the kingdom of God, for the service of Christ. All those things that constitute true worship and the foundations of the Christian life, true godly living, service to people and the worship of God, have lost their Biblical emphasis. The leaders have made everything that, according to God's will, has a subordinate role: service within the community, attendance at the "programs" of the community, their main goal. In today's communities, the important thing is to go to church, adapt to the values of the community, even if they are not Biblical, and you will become a good Christian in no time.
Our goal is not to create another denomination or start a church. We simply want to return to the New Testament foundations of living our faith, expecting God to bless our endeavors and our community.
Cooperation:
The liberal, loud-mouthed idea of today, that we should embrace everyone without discrimination, accept everyone as a brother, and work together with everyone in one great ecumenism, who professes the name of Jesus, is in direct opposition to the will of God. In fact, sometimes it is a command to isolate ourselves, to avoid, to break off the community, or not even to greet those who preach other doctrines. The basis of our unity is our faith. And the basis of our faith is the only, infallible Divine truth, which can only be one. The truth about Christ, his work, and his teaching. In the absence of this common basis, we have no common path with anyone.
At the same time, we would like to work together, to pray together before the Lord, with all those who know the Jesus who reveals himself through the pages of the Bible, whose hearts are also broken by seeing the state of the church today, who are moved by the unbelief and blindness of unbelievers, and are willing to make sacrifices in order to save souls.
With whom and on what basis we can undertake brotherhood and work together, we will describe in more detail in the “Unity” column on the “Our Principles” page.
We are currently starting our work in the western part of Nógrád County, but our hope is that if God is pleased with our sacrifice and blesses our ministry, and calls forth committed workers, a serious effort to advance the gospel can begin more and more widely.
